Frequently asked questions

What is preventive dental care?
Preventive dental care means being proactive about your oral health. It has two aspects: home care you do yourself — brushing, flossing daily, and a low-sugar diet — and professional care from your dental team, including cleanings and checkups. Preventive care helps detect signs of oral disease early, allowing for effective treatment before problems become severe.
How often do I need preventive cleanings and checkups?
We recommend a schedule based on your specific needs, following American Dental Association guidelines. You may need as little as one checkup with cleaning annually if you're healthy, or as often as every 3–4 months if you have or have had significant oral health issues.
When is All-on-4 better than dentures or full-mouth implants?
All-on-4 may be ideal if you want a teeth replacement option that's less expensive than full-mouth dental implants, or if you want to avoid removable and potentially unstable dentures. It can also be a better choice if you don't have enough healthy gum tissue to support removable dentures, though a healthy jawbone is the most important factor.
Why choose Invisalign over braces?
Invisalign offers near-invisibility, comfort without pointy metal, and the convenience of removing your aligners to eat, brush, and floss. Treatments can also work up to 50% faster than other orthodontic techniques.
Why would I need a dental implant?
If you have missing, decaying, or severely discolored teeth along with a healthy jawbone and gums, an implant may be perfect for you. Unlike bridges and dentures that may need replacing every 5–10 years, dental implants are built to last a lifetime.
How does laser whitening work?
Your dentist applies a heat-activated bleach gel to your teeth, and the laser activates it to remove deep yellow stains quickly. One treatment takes about an hour and delivers immediate, dramatic results. Take-home trays are also available for ongoing maintenance.
